Parking Information for Gordon Theater

INTRODUCTON

Parking, drop-off and unloading arrangements need to be made for everyone attending your event—participants, performers, speakers, support staff and patrons. Unfortunately, if arrangements are not made in advance, guests may receive parking violations which carry fees.  Parking arrangements can be made when you are making your reservation with the Events Office (856)225-6162 or reserve@camden.rutgers.edu

PARKING

At Rutgers-Camden parking is free from Friday 5:00 p.m. until Sunday 11:00 p.m. and during times when regular classes are not held (Spring Break, non-Summer Session hours).  During other hours the parking fee is $2.00 per pass (one vehicle).   Most frequently parking is available only in Rutgers Lot 11, located on the waterfront next to Campbell’s Field/Riversharks stadium.   Most of the time, Rutgers operates round-trip shuttles from Lot 11 to the main campus.  Guests are welcome to use these shuttles.  Infrequently, we are able to provide a limited number of parking passes to on-campus lots (Lots 13, 14, 1, 2, 3).

LOADING AND UNLOADING

Unloading equipment for events and performances is allowed as long as arrangements are made in advance.  Loading and unloading occurs from the back of the Gordon Theater only.  At no time may vehicles drive onto campus to load/unload under the breezeway between the Gordon Theater and Fine Arts Building. To access the back of the Gordon Theater, follow directions (below) to Cooper Street.

  • Once on Cooper Street turn right onto Fifth Street.
  • Follow Fifth Street until it curves (Ben Franklin Bridge will be on your right) and turns into Pearl Street.
  • Anticipate making a left onto what appears to be a driveway – this is the Rutgers University Police Department Police Circle.
  • Drive to the top of the circle and drive up the ramp at your right.  The back of the Gordon Theater is on your left. Equipment can be unloaded in back of the Gordon Theater.  Turn left and pull up to the back of the Gordon Theater load-in area.
  • No vehicle may remain in the back of the theater for more than 30 minutes. All vehicles must park in a pre-arranged spot after loading/unloading.  After 30 minutes the vehicle may be ticketed.
